Dear Standley Families,
Welcome back, Standley community. As we begin the 2026–2027 school year, our campus is already buzzing with energy, preparation, and a shared commitment to creating a joyful and supportive environment for every student on what will be our 50th Anniversary in the UC Community. Our staff has been working with care and intention to ensure a smooth and positive start, and we are grateful to partner with you in helping our students grow into confident, compassionate, and engaged learners.
This year brings many bright spots we are excited to share with you:
- Exceptional Attendance
For the past three years, Standley Middle School has held the highest overall attendance of any middle school in SDUSD—and the highest in the UC Cluster. This achievement reflects the strong partnership between our families, students, and staff. High attendance is closely tied to academic success and was a key factor in Standley being named a California Distinguished School in both 2024 and 2026. Thank you for continuing to make daily attendance a priority.
- Universal Meals for All Students
We are proud to continue offering free breakfast and lunch to every student, every day. These meals help ensure that all students are nourished and ready to learn. Menus and additional details can be found on the district’s Food and Nutrition Services webpage. Students will simply use their student ID to access these healthy options.
- 1:1 Chromebooks
Our commitment to equitable access to learning continues with a Chromebook for every student. Devices function like textbooks—students bring them to school daily, fully charged, and take them home to support homework and projects. New students and incoming 6th graders will receive a new device for their middle school journey. We also provide online monitoring at school and offer Parent Blocksi for families who wish to manage device use at home.
- Middle School Athletics
Athletics continue to thrive in SDUSD, and Standley had an outstanding year across all sports. We proudly fielded both boys’ and girls’ teams in every sport offered. Registration for Fall, Winter, and Spring seasons is available on our website, and we look forward to another year of teamwork, sportsmanship, and school spirit.
