Attention GSA members. If you are planning on going on the upcoming field trip, you must come to room 609 sometime (before or after school or during second lunch) to finalize your registration. Do not miss this important step! If you are in GSA, spread the word to other members in case they miss this announcement.
Hello Bird Gamers! The numbers continue to dwindle after yesterday’s balancing challenge. Congratulations if you’re still in the competition! Competition will be postponed if it is raining today; if it is postponed just listen to the bulletin announcements next week and be ready to go!

Boys Volleyball Tryouts are postponed for today. They have been rescheduled for next Wednesday at 1:50.
Girls Volleyball tryouts continue today 3:05 to 4:45 p.m. on the Blacktop/Upper Field.
Just a reminder the Locker room stays open for 10 minutes after school, but it is not available after practice. PLease take whatever items you need with you to the field after you change. Also, all students participating in MIddle School Athletics are responsible for methods of getting home, please do not rely on the Late bus, as it leaves before practice is over. Please see Mr. Hartman at Lunch if you have any questions.
8th graders, reminder that there will be a college readiness presentation in the library at 2nd lunch today. Grab your lunch and your friends and come learn about how to get ready for college!
We are excited to announce the winners of the Red Ribbon Week Door Decorating Contest. Thank you to all the advisory classes who participated. It was very difficult to choose just one winner, so we have a tie for first place and one second place winner. Both first place winning classrooms will get an ice cream party for their entire class next week. In addition, the two teachers with winning doors will get their advisory class covered by the administration, giving them an extended lunch break. The students in the second-place winning class will all receive certificates for free ice cream cones. And… the winners are:

Congratulations to the Pacers for winning Friday’s 3rd place tournament game. The Bucks and Thunder will face each other in Standley’s 11th Annual 5 on 5 Basketball finals today during 2nd Lunch. Standley’s 11th Annual 5 on 5 Basketball Tournament semi-Finals goes down today at Lunch Time! The winner will play next Monday during 2nd Lunch! Good luck to all 4 remaining teams!
Speaking of Basketball, both of our Middle School Athletics Basketball Teams competed on Saturday. Our Boys team lost a close game to Marshall Middle in the semi-finals. The girls team defeated Marshall Middle in their semi-final game, but fell short in the finals to Taft, ending a great run starting the playoffs as an 8 seed.
We also had our Track & Field team competing on Saturday as well. Congratulations to the following students:

It’s time! Standley’s last-student-standing, winner-take-all elimination challenge is back. ASB’s Bird Game 2025 begins during both lunches on Tuesday, November 4. First, you register. Next, you show up to the basketball court on the announced day to find out what the day’s challenge is. Survive the challenge, and move on. Be the last student standing and win a pizza party for you and your friends. Some of the challenges require skill, some require strategy, and some just require luck…there’s nothing like it! Look for the sign-up board by ASB room 601 and sign up. You only have next week to register, so don’t wait. Only registered students can participate. Good luck!

Next week is Red Ribbon week! We’re celebrating living drug free all week long with daily lunch activities and spirit week. This year’s theme is “Life is a Puzzle- Solve it Drug Free.” Monday is wear red day to show we are READY to live drug free.
Good luck tomorrow to both our Standley Basketball teams! All games are at Mira Mesa High School. The Girls will play Marshall at 8 a.m. If they win, they will play either Roosevelt or Taft in the Eastern League Finals at 12 p.m.! The Boys will also take on Marshall in the Western League Semifinals at 4 p.m. If they win, they will play either Bethune or Bell in the Championships at 7 p.m. Great job Seahawks, go get that Championship!

Congratulations to both our Basketball teams, as they won their quarterfinal playoff games over the weekend! Our Girls upset #1 Eastern League seed CPMA, and will play Marshall at Mira Mesa HIgh School at 8 a.m. on Saturday. The boys will also take on Marshall in the Western League Semifinals at 4 p.m., also at Mira Mesa. If they win thor games, they move on to the Championships that same day. Great job Seahawks, go get that Championship!
